SUMMARY (Writing
a literature review)
In the article ‘The LiteratureReview: A Few Tips On Conducting It’ Dena Taylor gives some useful tips to write a
literature review. First of all, she explains what a literature review is and
what you should do to write it. She also adds that this type of writing helps
you to develop your skills in such aspects as: information seeking, critical
appraisal, which could be useful not only for writing but for life. Then the author
lists the things which a literature review must do and what questions about these
areas of thesis, scope and studies contrary studies you should ask yourself before
start writing. Then, Dena Taylor gives another list of questions, which are concerned
about the book or the article your review is based on. You should ask yourself
about the author, theses and whether such theses could be approached more efficiently
from another perspective. Finally, the author stresses that it is important to understand
that a literature review is a piece of discursive prose, and it should not be
confused with summarizing.
I`ve chosen
this article because it`s short and very informative. It`s also well organized
and I like the lists of questions, which help me to put everything in order.
